deep water solo

READY TO TRY DEEP WATER SOLO?

DWS trips are great for a mixed group of beginners and advanced climbers. We leave as the water is coming up and have about 5 hours for deep water soloing on two sites. In between climbing, we take a lunch break on the beach with some good bouldering. Great place to snorkel as well. This trip usually runs daily during high season. Total trip time is 6 to 7 hours and price is 1.500 THB per person.

We have a minimum and a maximum amount of climbers we can take each day.

Please get your ticket early to avoid disappointment. Best time to do so is the day before.
Please also understand that we sometimes have to cancel DWS trips due to unsafe weather conditions.

Subscribe to our newsletter for upcoming DWS schedules.

Q: HOW MUCH DO YOUR TRIPS COST?

Our Deep Water Solo Trips are 1.500 THB per Person. This price includes all boat transfers to the DWS sites, DWS guide, old climbing shoes, climbing chalk, lunch and drinking water, ladder and kayak for access to the start of the climbs.

Q: DO YOU RUN A TRIP EVERY DAY?

As soon as 4 climbers sign up, we run a trip. During high season we usually run a trip every day. Please drop by the shop asap to get your ticket as we cannot accommodate more than 8 climbers per day. Most climbers sign up one or two days before and it’s easier to do so in person.

Q: CAN I SIGN UP PER E-MAIL AND PAY ONLINE?

The most efficient way is just come to the shop and buy your ticket once you have arrived on Tonsai beach. From Railay beach it’s a 15min walk. If you are on a tight schedule and cannot go to Basecamp the day before to buy your ticket, you can try to walk in on a trip. During high season (December to March) it is possible to pay online and schedule a pick-up in Ao Nang or Railay, please make sure you contact us a week before you want to go.

Q: HOW CAN I JOIN A DWS TRIP IF I AM STAYING IN RAILAY, AO NANG, KRABI, KO PHI PHI OR PHUKET…?

If you are staying in Krabi, Ko Phi Phi or Phuket, you should consider moving at least to Ao Nang, even better to Tonsai the day before the trip. We can only pick-up from Ao Nang or Railay West DWS customers who hold paid tickets. Sorry, we will not go to Ao Nang just on the bases of an e-mail or a phone call.

Q: I AM VEGETARIAN OR ALLERGIC TO SEAFOOD, WHAT ABOUT LUNCH?

Just write your diet requirements next to your name on the sign-up sheet.

Q: I WANT TO GO BUT HAVE A FRIEND WHO DOES NOT CLIMB. CAN HE OR SHE JOIN AS WELL?

Yes! There are snorkel on the boat and the sites offer much better snorkeling than many organised snorkel trip where you only see your neighbours fins. Your friend can also swim, kayak, and, unlike normal climbing, DWS is a great spectator sport!

Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

You get wet. If it’s a short shower, there may be some rock roofs the boat can park under. However, DWS will get you wet anyway… The only reasons for which we have to cancel trips are waves and wind. During a trip should the wind gust get too strong, we will move everyone to the other side of the island.
